One of the biggest advantages of cloud services is that updates and news become available to all users on a regular basis within a few days of the implementation. You do not need to install the updated version every year, as in traditional software solutions. The changes are being implemented gradually, so we can get used to them smoothly. We guarantee that getting used to the latest Hangouts Meet update won’t be a problem for anyone.
What is the Hangouts Meet app?
Hangouts Meet is an application that is part of all G Suite editions. It enables conversations, conferences and video streaming over the internet – but that’s not all. Google has recently started to intensively develop the functions of this communicator. Recently, we wrote that the possibility to join a conference over the phone via a traditional telephone network would now include all G Suite users.
What’s new in Hangouts Meet?
Google has recently announced that it was increasing the maximum number of video conference participants.
The benefits of the change are available to everyone, because the limit was increased in each of the G Suite packages. Until now, 100 people in G Suite Enterprise, 50 in G Suite Business and 25 in Basic version could participate in Hangouts Meet video calls.
Higher participant limits for Hangouts Meet video conferencing
From now on, 250-person meetings are available for G Suite Enterprise (for companies, schools and universities), 150 people can simultaneously participate in G Suite Business video calls, while the limit for G Suite Basic (also G Suite Basic for Education) has been increased to 100 people. Administrators do not have to change anything – limits are increased for everyone by default.
What if you need to reach an even larger group?
The abovementioned limits apply to the number of conference users who connect by any means (via the Internet or phone) and can actively participate in the conversation. The Hangouts Meet application can also be used as a tool for streaming conversations, conferences, webinars or trainings. In this case, there is a completely different limit – up to 100,000 people can simultaneously receive our live stream.
