G Suite for free – is it possible?

G Suite for free – is it possible?

G Suite is known as the paid set of tools offered by Google. And – in principle – it really is. However, there are some exceptions and some user groups can use G Suite for free. Who can use the free version of the package from Google?

G Suite for free – for whom and on what terms?

The free Google office suite can be used by:

  • Schools and universities
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Companies

A dedicated G Suite for Education is addressed to both schools and universities. Non-Profit Organizations are also entitled to free use of the package. Companies can register on our site and start a 30-day free trial.

G Suite for Education

G Suite for Education is a free service that facilitates access to business tools. It can be used by primary and secondary schools as well as universities. However, to become a user of G Suite Enterprise for Education, several conditions must be met. The institution must have a verified status of a non-profit organization and be an accredited educational institution recognized by the state authorities. Schools and Colleges must grant recognized education certificates.

The G Suite for Education package was created by Google based on observation – it includes the most important applications that have proven themselves in companies and organizations. The tools enable collaborative project creation, communication between students and teachers, and file sharing. It is worth noting that G Suite for Education also connects to the free Google Vault service (the tool is used for automatic backup).

An additional advantage is the Classroom application, which, among others, facilitates the work of teachers, ensures better organization of teaching and enables parents to track children’s grades.

G Suite for Nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations are also entitled to the free version of G Suite. To be able to use the package for free, you must have a Google account for Nonprofit Organizations. This, in turn, involves meeting certain requirements.

The organization must:

  • have the status of a charity,
  • be verified as a non-profit organization by TechSoup or a TechSoup regional partner,
  • be a public benefit organization, foundation or association registered in the National Court Register or an equivalent public register.

The Google for Nonprofit program excludes state entities or organizations, healthcare providers (including hospitals) and educational units (in this case the dedicated service is G Suite for Education).

G Suite for Nonprofits is a package of tools that facilitates, among others, an organization’s work, engaging new people in charity work and running online fundraising.

G Suite for businesses

Companies also don’t have to rush into deep water and immediately invest in G Suite packages. It is much safer to make the final decision about moving to the cloud after trying all its advantages for free. That’s why any company can sign up for a free trial through official Google partners. The conditions for testing the service are very simple:

  • The company chooses the package that it wants to test (Basic, Business, Enterprise),
  • Google Partner implements the package and registers any number of user accounts,
  • The company uses all the features of the selected package for free for 30 days.

It is worth mentioning that the conditions of the trial period are much more favorable through the Google Partner than when the test is implemented directly by Google.

Google offers companies only 14 trial days and the number of test users is limited to 10.

Until December 2012, companies had the possibility to register for a free, but stripped down version of the G Suite called the G Suite Legacy. However, this option was withdrawn from the Google product catalog. Organizations that signed up to G Suite Legacy in the past can still use this package.

Regardless of whether you run a company, are a member of a non-profit organization or work at school – with the help of Fly On The Cloud you can test the G Suite for free for 30 days by filling out the form on this page. A month is a sufficient time to learn more about the functionality of Google services and decide if this is the right solution for us.
